Norfolk County Fire Chiefs Association Awarded Grant for Purchase of Personal Protective Equipment

The Norfolk County Fire Chiefs are pleased to share that the association has been awarded a grant in the amount of $123,076.18 for the purchase of personal protective equipment.

The grant, issued through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program – COVID-19 Supplemental program, aims to provide funds for the purchase of PPE and related supplies, including reimbursements, to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The grant was authored by Medfield Fire Chief William Carrico. The association will use the grant funds to purchase additional PPE including footwear covers, surgical type face masks, respirators, isolation gowns, eye protection and hand sanitizer. The equipment will be distributed to the first responders of the association’s member departments as they continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in their communities.
